Burn Permits in Eureka Charter Township
Applications to burn are available on our website under Forms and in our office. A burn application must be filled out and approved by the Zoning Administrator before you will get a permit number. Once you have that number you MUST call Dispatch at 989-831-5253 to get final approval. Once that original form is on file, you can be issued a permit number good for 4 days at a time. You may call or come in to get a new permit number each time you need to burn. Please see Regulatory Ordinances, Chapter 9, Section 8 – Open Burning for additional information.
You do NOT need a burn permit if burning in a fire pit or burning barrel with a grate or cover. If you have any questions, please contact Eureka Charter Township and ask to speak with the Zoning Administrator.
Township Board Meetings are held the second Monday of every month at 7:00 pm at the Township Hall.

Public Hearing Notice
The Planning Commission has scheduled a Public Hearing during their regularly scheduled meeting on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, at 7:00 pm at the Eureka Charter Township Hall.
This meeting will be held to gain public comment on a Special Use Permit from Heidi Funk and Karen Blumberg, for property at 6801 W. County Farm Rd. regarding a request for a proposal to allow the operation of a small business with the construction of a large pole barn style building with downstairs space for the business and living space above.

**Change in Township Clean Up Services*
Eureka Charter Township is moving to a year round system to help with Township Clean Up.
Vouchers for 2 visits per year to Pitsch Sanitary Landfill will be provided to Eureka Charter Township property owners instead.
Vouchers are available to property owners at the Township office Monday – Friday, 9 am to 1 pm. Please bring proof of ID with Township address or proof of ownership of property (driver’s license, tax bill, etc.)
